The Full Measure
The Full Measure
The Full Measure is a keynote program designed to inspire those that intend to become engaged in the pursuit to fill the full measure of their creation. We all expect a full measure when we spend our hard earned money on those things we acquire in order to fulfill our needs and wants. If that new phone isn’t working up to snuff, we take it back and demand that it be replaced. We demand a full measure for what we paid. Would anyone accept half an order when they paid for a full order of whatever? Of course not. If we paid for 200 lb. of landscaping mulch, we expect to receive 200 lb. Then, why do we accept half a measure of what life has to offer when we have invested a life time of energy and talent? The Full Measure addresses the issue of pursuing and finding our full potential.
The problem for many is that they simply have never taken responsibility for their own destiny. They wade through mediocrity, trapped in a life that treats them poorly. They feel the good life is meant for others but not for them. They blame their poor skills, their boss, their spouse, the economy, the government, their parents, their children, lack of opportunity, bad luck, etc...but they seldom blame themselves. It’s true that many of us have been dealt a bad hand. But why do some succeed after being dealt a worse hand than our own? How can some overcome their environments while others seem to be trapped?
The Full Measure puts the responsibility for success right where it belongs - in the hands of those engaged in the pursuit. Stop the blame game and embrace the engaged game. Become an activist for YOU. Set in motion patterns of successful actions that bring you to the next level. Will there be obstacles? Of course! Will there be failures? Absolutely. But you will endure and you will overcome by falling forward. You will learn to listen to your inner voice. To find and engage your calling. By systematically finding and building on your strengths, you will learn that you are best when you are true to yourself.
We all have strengths, talents and abilities that make us unique. We must stop trying to be like someone else. It doesn’t do any good to try to mimic the success we see in others. Can we learn from successful people? Yes! Can we incorporate some of their success techniques into our own set of skills? Sure! Can we enjoy the same success by doing what they do step by step? Probably not. What we need to do is take what we learn from those we see as successful and adapt that learning to our own strengths and talents in order to develop a unique approach to our own success. We can’t buy a book on “This is How I Made a Million Dollars,” copy the author’s every activity and expect the same results. The reason for this is that those activities are suited to the author’s unique talents and abilities. Yes, read the book, but don’t try to mimic that person’s way of doing business. Instead, focus on how the author harnessed the power of his talents and abilities in order to become true to himself. It is likely that those who write these types of books know who they are and like the results. By being true to themselves they know in what direction to travel. They know which turns to take that will lead them to fulfillment.
Even if we could mimic someone's system and obtain similar results, it is doubtful that we will find enjoyment in the journey. We might obtain some of the outcomes we are seeking in terms of money, but we will most likely find that we are unhappy living someone else's life. Are you trying to mimic someone's else's life and finding that true happiness eludes you? How can you be happy living someone else's life? You need to engage your life. Be true to YOU. By engaging your true self, you will find that the journey toward your version of success is just as enjoyable at the end result. The good life is not a destination. It is the journey! You need to live your life. - your “good life.” You need to Fill The Full Measure of Your Creation!
