Execution Management

Execution Management is a keynote program designed to help your organization adopt a culture of execution.  During this presentation your organization will come to understand execution as a system; a system of discipline; disciplined people having disciplined debate and then taking disciplined action.

Execution Management will take you through the dynamics of ASK-LISTEN-ACT (the discipline of debating reality).  In Larry Bossidy & Ram Charan’s book Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done, they describe execution as “a systematic way of exposing reality and acting on it.”  Many leaders fail to engage this debate; hence they never get a grasp on reality and are unable to act in a manner that would propel the organization toward its goals.

OK, you’ve got the vision thing down.  You have taken your team off-site for a three-day strategy session.  They have agreed to and are excited about the “stretch goals.”  The incentives are in place.  You have empowered them to act!  BUT NOTHING GETS DONE!

This happens all the time.  Good leaders put forth the vision, set the strategy and then fail.  In 2000, 20% of the CEOs of the top 200 companies on Fortune’s 500 list were fired or forced to resign.  NO EXECUTION.

Execution cannot be delegated.  The leaders of the organization must have a laser focus on the details of execution.  Stop getting bored in “the doing.”  It’s “the doing” that matters.  Gone are the days where the leader gives the vision, sets the strategy and leaves the doing to others.  This is an “All hands on deck” call to action. Simply put - a visionary who is disengaged from the execution, who delegates “the doing,” will not be able to lead an organization into a culture of execution.

The goal of Execution Management is to create an engaged workforce - one in which it is the responsibility of all to ASK-LISTEN-ACT.  An engaged workforce puts action before bureaucracy.  An engaged workforce is flexible and ready to embrace change.  When the environment shifts, so does the workforce.  By constantly debating reality, the engaged workforce is not only able to stay ahead of the curve, but it reinvents the charts.

It all starts with people;  getting the right people on the bus and in the right seats, and getting the wrong people off the bus (see Jim Collins - Who First).  With your team assembled you can engage in vigorous debate about How to get things done;  asking questions with laser-like focus.  How do you set the strategy into motion?  What resources will you need?  Who are the best people to do the job?  What will be your milestones?  When do you monitor the milestones?  What is the competition going to do after you set your strategy in motion?

Let us bring Execution Management to your organization.  The Full Measure can help you fill the gap between strategic goals and results.  We can help your organization embrace the discipline of getting things done.  It’s time to raise the bar.  Time to move to the next level.  To a higher level of EXECUTION.
